FREYWILLE is pleased to present their new Hommage collection, this time inspired by the Swiss pioneer of abstract geometrical art of the 20th century: Sophie Taeuber-Arp.

Inspired by Sophie Taeuber-Arp's work of art "Quatre espaces à cercles rouges roulants" (four surfaces with rolling red circles) from 1932, the multi-faceted geometric shapes and colors have been designed with finest fire-enamel to emphasize pure joie de vivre and movement: DADA Dance.

As a protagonist of Dadaism Sophie Taeuber-Arp (1889-1943) worked in many different fields of art. She realized her complexity in painting, textile art, architecture and sculpture (one of her key works is her husband's wooden head "Dada", which is on display in the Museum of Modern Art in New York).
Her differentiated artworks can be found in many well known museums and galleries all around the world.
Sophie Taeuber-Arp is the most important Swiss artist of the 20th century. Her portrait is pictured on the 50-swiss franc banknote.

The abstract design made of lines and different geometrical forms is divided into two colour schemes:

DAY
In the DAY version, Sophie Taeuber-Arp's original choice of colors was implemented. Elegant emerald green, vital vermilion and graceful shades of blue, which, together with accents in black and gold result in a noble, self-confident and modern design.

EVENING
The colors for the EVENING version are based on a monochrome palette of soft gray, blue and earth tones, again combined with gold and black, which put the geometric elements in the spotlight in a cautiously elegant way.
